Founded in 1929, the company today is now known as 'Northrop Grumman', and ranks in the top hundred earning companies on the Forbes 500 list, specializing in military aircraft, and related battlefield applications.
Here we see Grumman's contribution to the NASA shuttle programme, having previously contributed to Apollo, in this very rare patch that depicts the craft's larger External Fuel Tank extending beyond the red merrowed border of its typical circular design.
