Another gem from Jen Tate Cosplay here. Well, technically it's an enamel badge.
According to David Mann, the artist whose striking work this pin appears to have been directly inspired, his original illustration was released in November 1975, and no doubt has adorned many a young rocker's bedroom, almost certainly to this day. Among the finer details to be found, we see the motorcycle was originally purple, and the undead passenger sported an even scarier '666' emblazoned on his bony bonce.
The Ride Hard Die Fast pin, so-dated by its seller on Etsy, is said to be an example from the 1980s. It depicts a shirtless dude with long black hair straddling a motorcycle, accompanied by a scary skelligog. Granted, it may be an unmistakably cool rendition, but nevertheless I am not 100% sold on that slogan. As a great man once said, "Live fast, sure, live too bloody fast sometimes, but die young? Die old."
The Promised Land |
I, for one, cannot fathom how Jen Tate found this. I can only assume she has some sort of hex vision or Psi-scan available to her. The overwhelmingly obfuscated piece can be found sideways-on by the aforementioned Wilma pin below the Lady Luck patch, beside the screen-right lapel.
Measures approximately 19 x 27mm.
